Chasing Street Art in Berlin

Berlin is the Capital city of Street Art, invaded by a large and eclectic collection of Murals, Graffiti and stencils.

The artistic boom was born after the fall of the wall. You can find creative expressions of all types, sizes and materials decorating the public spaces of Berlin. It’s an open air gallery created by well known and annonymous artists.

The German Capital is so big that’s almost impossible to see it all in just one visit. As soon as you get there, you already know you will have to go back. I’ve selected my favourite legal and illegal pieces collected while chasing street art around Friedichshain, Kreuzberg, Prenzlauer Berg and Mitte, but there are much much more!

Artists: Tristan Eaton, BLU, ROA, Os Gemeos, JR, One TruthAgostino Iacurci, Victor AshVarious & Gould, Alaniz, CASE Maclaim

Haus Schwarzenberg | Mitte

A magic place run by a nonprofit organisation where art and creativity are allowed to flourish. There are shops, offices and bars.  It’s bizarre and cool. Very recommended for sunset drinks.

Yaam | Friedichshain

Yaam stands for “Young African Art Market”. It is much more than a club. Surrounded by Jamaican Caribbean vibes, you can enjoy of delicius food, drinks, great music, cool art and even a beach!  It’s a totally laid-back chilling place where “stress” is an unknown word.

If you look up, you will find here an amazing mural from the Portuguese artist Vhils

Travelling with the lens to the US | Streeting New York

As Frank Sinatra has well described, New York is the city that doesn’t sleep. An avant-garde Megalopolis full of art, music, nightlife, skyscrapers, lights, shows, but specially, people. An exquisite mix of people from all over the world and different backgrounds inhabits the 5 NY neighborhoods, converting the big apple into one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world, with a unique Culture.

Among some of the artistic expressions we can find invading the Concrete jungle is the street art. In fact, New York is the city were graffiti culture was born in the late 60s when the young people, by responding to their socio-political environment, started a movement graffiting the public walls with slogans.

These are some of the amazing jobs I found streeting Manhattan and Brooklyn. Masterpieces not only on public walls, but also on the floor, roofs, trucks and street-signs, created by some superb artists such as Invader, Tristan Eaton, Pixel Pancho, Ron EnglishBuff Monster and Brolga
